Indexes are a required part of any non-fiction work, but you need an indexer who understands the specifics of your text and the purpose of an index as a map for readers, not a list of words.
As an anthropologist, my speciality is complex humanities and social sciences texts, with a sub-specialism in (the anthropology of) religion, and cutting-edge theoretical movements within contemporary thought.
My specialities include:
I am proficient in key indexing tools, in particular Cindex and Picardy.
My go-to workflow is an extremely efficient custom chain of Neovim plugins to produce Picardy files, which can then be processed by Cindex.
I can provide indexes in Picardy and Cindex files, and in .rtf, .docx, or .pdf documents.
I can also use embedded indexing tools in Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Word, if so desired by the publisher.
I love working directly with authors and editors, and I am happy to work with self-published authors and early career scholars, as well as publishing houses.
